Isle of Patmos Conclave No. 277 – Installation Meeting

Friday 25th September 2026

Isle of Patmos Conclave No. 277 of the East Midlands Division of the Red Cross of Constantine held its annual meeting on Friday 25th September, a gathering marked by both tradition and reflection.

The Conclave met to install its new Sovereign for the forthcoming year. Owing to the sad passing of James Davies earlier in the year, the ceremony carried an added sense of poignancy as the members came together to install his successor.

This year, Richard Barnett was installed as Sovereign, with David Lathrop conducting the ceremony. David delivered the work with assurance and precision, demonstrating a clear command of the ritual and ensuring the installation was carried out with dignity.

The meeting was honoured by the presence of the Intendant General, Tim Barrett, accompanied by his Deputy, Mark Thompson‑O’Connor, whose attendance added further significance to the occasion.

Following the meeting, members enjoyed a superb meal at a local restaurant, an excellent and convivial way to conclude a busy and meaningful evening for the Conclave.
